Channel Managers

Navman Europe is currently expanding its pan European sales structure. We are looking for a Channel Manager in Austria.

Scope of the Role:

The Channel Manager is responsible for execution of sales and below-the-line marketing plans for all NAVMAN EUROPE LTD products.  The role will establish, develop and manage an effective sales plan for current and future NAVMAN EUROPE LTD products in line with agreed NAVMAN EUROPE LTD strategies.  Working collaboratively with Channel Marketing in the country, the Channel Manager is a critical position in ensuring that NAVMAN EUROPE's business growth goals are achieved in Europe.


Responsibilities:

1. Sales Performance

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets (revenue by product) and jointly own the annual sales target for your country with the Country Director.
  • Manage margins to agreed targets, understand your own impact on country financial performance
  • Identify and agree quarterly KPIs with Country Director
  • Deploy monthly / quarterly product demand generators.
  • Develop and implement sales activities which increase market share, brand awareness and profile of NAVMAN EUROPE LTD in the designated country.


2.  Customer Management & Development

  • Maintain high level of customer service from distribution channels, retail outlets through to the end customer.
  • Manage all aspects of account management including financial risks, product management, product training, sales training and channel development.
  • Maintain and / or acquire key financial and commercial information on current and future customers.
  • Maintain customer records including keynotes from all client meetings/visits.
  • Carry out thorough due diligence review prior to engaging, directly or indirectly, any future direct or indirect customers.
  • Make Country Director aware of any obligation that the company is contractually committed to and to seek any and all relevant authorisations to do so.
  • Establish and develop strong commercial relationships with operational leaders in all accounts
  • Continuously evaluate the market for developments, competitive threats and opportunities that may exist


3.  Reporting

  • Forecast sales in detail by customer, by product and by channel quarterly advance.
  • Maintain monthly sales out figures by customer, product and channel.
  • Provide a monthly management report containing – Sales by Client – Direct – Indirect – Key Accounts – Distributors – by product.
  • Update and forecast sales and budgets on a rolling six-month basis at the end of each month; work with Country Director to assess achievements and impacts.
  • Report monthly on competitor’s activity and provide analysis to Country Director


4. Leadership and Compliance

  • Understand the NAVMAN EUROPE LTD vision, value proposition, growth targets as context for planning and development of sales organization
  • Continuously monitor the market for developments, competitive threats and opportunities that may exist

Essential Experience Required:

  • Minimum 8 yrs experience, 5 years within international sales, managing key accounts
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding/achieving sales targets
  • Demonstrated experience of retail or distribution sales management
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and inventory management
  • Evidence of sales success within a multinational FMCG or similar (hi tech) organization
  • May have managed people, demonstrates potential for managing sales team and individual performance
  • Computer literate – including MS Office suite
  • Oral and written ability in own language and English


Working Relationships:

This role reports to the Country Director and will work collaboratively with other Channel/Sales Managers and with Channel Marketing Manager

The role may be based at home but will involve travel widely within designated country to visit key accounts on a daily basis.  Also regular travel to HQ in Brussels / Gatwick and internationally as required.

The Channel Manager is expected to build strong commercial relationships with operational managers in the channel within the designated country.
