Navman allows users to update sat nav maps with new iUpdata service
LONDON, June 2007 – For millions of motorists across the UK, sat nav is an essential piece of kit that gives confidence and reassurance when getting from A to B. Still a relatively young technology, GPS devices are improving all the time – and one area satellite navigation pioneer Navman is focusing on is the accuracy of road map information. Their new iUpdata service, which allows customers to report any changes to the road network, is a positive step towards more accurate map data.
Navman, like other GPS manufacturers, sources road data from mapping experts who are constantly monitoring the roads and updating their information with state of the art technology. However, with new roads appearing every day, one-way streets being created and housing developments springing up faster than ever before, some of the information will inevitably become out of date. However, Navman’s iUpdata service at www.navman.com allows motorists to enter details of any inaccuracies they come into the iUpdata database. Every single comment will then be passed onto mapping experts, so that they can be verified and updated.
