Key Accounts Managers

Navman Europe is currently expanding its pan European sales structure. We are looking for Key Account Managers in the Netherlands and Sweden.

Job location: Netherlands and Sweden.


Scope of the Role:

The Key Account Manager is responsible for maximizing sales on consumer markets in key retail accounts in which they will develop end-to-end relationships. They will have a thorough understanding of retail marketplace, E-tail and catalogue sales landscape.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Performance

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets (revenue by product) and own the annual target for your accounts.
  • Understand your impact on financial performance, especially margins.
  • Agree and implement quarterly sales plans and relevant key actions for all accounts – direct, wholesale, retail.
  • Implement sales activities which increase market share, brand awareness and profile of NAVMAN EUROPE LTD in the designated country.
  • Work with Channel Marketing Manager to define and resource key account needs such as merchandising, POS materials, training, demo days.


2.  Customer Management & Development

  • Maintain high level of customer service from distribution channels, retail outlets through to the end customer.
  • Achieve significant penetration of key accounts with buyers and sales management; manage all aspects of the account ie  lead major sales, analyze and discuss sales performance, evaluate financial risks, product management, product training, sales training and channel development.
  • Ensure that personal knowledge of products and relevant technology is kept up to date.
  • Maintain and / or acquire key financial and commercial information on current and future customers.
  • Maintain customer records including keynotes from all client meetings/visits.
  • Establish and develop strong commercial relationships with all functions in key accounts


3.  Reporting

  • Forecast sales in detail by customer, by product and by channel quarterly advance.
  • Maintain monthly sales out figures by customer, product and channel.
  • Provide a monthly management report containing – Sales by Client – Direct – Indirect – Key Accounts – Distributors – by product.
  • Update and forecast sales and budgets on a rolling six-month basis at the end of each month; work with Sales Manager to assess achievements and impacts.
  • Report monthly on competitor’s activity and provide analysis to Sales Manager.


4. Compliance

  • Understand the NAVMAN EUROPE LTD vision, value proposition, growth targets as context for planning and development of key accounts
  • Ensure account strategies align with country and NAVMAN EUROPE LTD global strategy for revenue growth and increased market share.
  • Continuously monitor the market for developments, competitive threats and opportunities that may exist
  • Carry out thorough due diligence review prior to engaging, directly or indirectly, any future direct or indirect customers.
  • Make Sales Manager aware of any obligation that the company is contractually committed to and to seek any and all relevant authorisations to do so.

Essential Experience Required:

  • 3 years experience of national level retail and channel sales of consumer electronics/high technology products;
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding/achieving sales targets
  • Proven track record of growing existing accounts;
  • Knowedge & strong contacts within the designated retail accounts
  • Hands-on and team playing attitude to achieve targets together with all company resources;
  • Business or relevant technical degree;
  • Computer literate – including MS Office suite
  • Oral and written ability in own language and English


Working Relationships:

This role reports to the Country Sales Manager and will work closely with buyers and retailers in the channel. 

The role may be based at home but will involve daily travel to key accounts and regular travel to HQ in Brussels /Gatwick. Infrequent travel in Europe or Taiwan.

The Key Account Manager is expected to build strong commercial relationships with operational managers in the Key Account (s) for which they are responsible.
