Country Marketing Manager

Navman Europe is currently expanding its pan European marketing and sales structure. We are looking for a Country Marketing Manager in Spain.

Scope of the Role:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the Country Marketing Plan, will develop and manage country BTL budgets and have a significant influence on ATL budgets / Marketing strategy across Europe. The Marketing Manager will ensure all the appropriate resources are in place to effectively market MIO TECHNOLOGY EUROPE brands (and products) in the market place within the designated country.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Country Director and European Marketing to create, communicate and implement the Country Marketing Plan.
  • Competitive product knowledge – know competitor products as well as our own.
  • Consumer Champion – influence (by inputting frequently to) European Marketing Strategy and provide assistance to Product Management in the areas of new product development, packaging, labeling etc.
  • Identify the strengths and weaknesses of MIO/Navman products, marketing strategy and business to ensure continuous improvement of how we engage with consumers and the channel.
  • Develop and manage BTL marketing budgets, working closely with sales teams to ensure achievement of ROI on all marketing spends.
  • Establish strong relationships with local media / advertising agencies and engage them in relevant marketing events and activities ‘as if they were staff’.
  • Deliver the message - engage closely with sales teams and retail /distribution channels, ‘regard country sales revenue targets as if your own’ ; attend regular sales and channel partner meetings to review forecasts, issues, opportunities.
  • Ensure provision of training, brand management, merchandising, POS materials and all other field/channel marketing support is directly linked to sales generation and increased market share.
  • Undertake regular marketing audits to establish what tools are available, how and where they should be used.

Essential Experience Required:

  • Likely to have at least 8-10 years commercial business experience working across a range of functions and/or marketing disciplines – sales, buying, marketing communications, channel marketing, product marketing.
  • Marketing experience within the Consumer Electronics, IT/Software, Automotive or navigation industry.
  • Informed, professional marketeer who is used to working ‘hand-in-hand’ with sales /channel partners and can assert strong commercial viewpoint as necessary.
  • Media, Advertising and Creative Agency management experience – will have managed multiple campaigns and know pitfalls, risks.
  • European language skills, English essential.
  • Advanced Office and IT skills required (Word, Powerpoint, Excel).

Working Relationships:

This role reports to the Country Director and will work hand in hand with Sale Management and Key Account Teams. The Marketing Manager engages closely with local media and creative agencies, the retail and distribution channel and ensures the country marketing team (direct reports) does likewise. Other key interfaces include Country Marketing across Europe and European Marketing (central teams) in Brussels/Gatwick.

The role may be based at home but will involve daily travel to agencies, retailers and distributors and regular travel to HQ in Brussels/Gatwick. Infrequent travel in Europe or Taiwan.
