Text-to-Speech (TTS) on the S80 & S90i enhances directions by speaking the actual road names.
Simple in concept but a huge leap forward in convenience and safety, TTS enhances audible directions by speaking the actual road names. In doing this it’s easier and more intuitive to follow, allowing you to concentrate more on the road ahead while being guided quickly and easily to your destination.
The S80 and S90i models feature TTS, which means street names and arterial roads signs will be spoken. For example, instead of simply saying 'Turn right in 200 meters', your Navman will say 'In 200 meters at the end of the road, turn right into Smith Street'. Or if you were travelling on a highway approaching a major junction, your Navman will read the text straight off the major road sign.
This gives you greater navigation accuracy, and it will almost feel like someone is sitting beisde you giving you directions.
