Award-winning navigation pioneer announces new range, with TV coverage supported by national and online press
LONDON, November 2007 – GPS pioneer Navman will this month launch an extensive media campaign to promote their new range of sat navs. In the weeks approaching Christmas the revolutionary S-Series will appear in Navman’s first ever television campaign, supported by advertising in the national and online press, as well as PR and in-store promotions.
The television campaign begins with a thirty second commercial which will be appearing on ITV, Channel Four and Five, as well as a number of major satellite channels, until December 2007. In addition, Navman’s sponsorship of Channel Five’s The Gadget Show - which will run every Monday night at 8pm until 17 December – allows the company to reach approximately 1 million gadget-loving viewers every episode.
Also this month, Navman teams up with Times Online to unveil Britain’s Best Kept Secrets in a series of articles which will appear on a dedicated microsite accessible through timesonline.co.uk. John Cleare, the UK’s most prestigious landscape photographer, will choose nineteen lesser known yet stunning locations that he has photographed over the years, and Navman will show travellers how to get to each spot using their unique NavPix technology. Running from now until the end of January 2008, Britain’s Best Kept Secrets will bring you some of the most beautiful sea views, countrysides and architectural hotspots you’ll ever find so close to home, highlighting the unique technology that makes Navman an innovator in the GPS market.
The campaign will also extend to the online press, with advertisements appearing on websites including The Sun, What Car, GQ, The New Scientist, MSN and lastminute.com throughout November and December. During the same time frame, full pages featuring Navman will be included in all leading weekend newspaper supplements. Targeting viewers and readers who will appreciate both the style and substance of the S-Series, the campaign highlights Navman’s position as an innovator within the GPS industry. The campaign, including the idents for Channel Five, has been produced by Navman’s creative agency, Earth, while all media has been planned by and bought through Mediacom.
‘The sophisticated S-Series is a product range we’re really very proud of,’ says Colin Holloway at Navman Europe. ‘We’ve invested heavily in research and design and have completely renovated the S-Series from the inside out, creating a range of products that is not only stylish but also extremely user-friendly and intuitive. The media campaign behind the new S-Series highlights this, building on the existing reputation for innovation and intelligent design we’ve worked so hard to build.’
